Details

The DATSCAN CRF captures information on whether the imaging scan was completed, and any dates/comments associated with the scan. This table was simplified from 1.0, with the removal of eight variables, and the addition of one variable. A description of why these changes were made has been included below:

Schema Changes: Some variables are no longer being explicitly captured, but the information they contain can be found elsewhere/reconciled through other variables in 2.0.

  • DATXFRYN: The decision was made from PPMI leadership to remove dates as potential for queries in this table, and thus this variable was removed. This variable can be reconciled against the Imaging Core reports based on confirmation the scan was done (i.e., assessment completed).

  • RSLTNGAE: This is no longer explicitly captured in this table. The AERELPRO variable in the AE table will indicate if an Adverse Event was tied to a DaTscan procedure.

Deprecated

  • SCNINJCT: This question is no longer needed, as DaTscan is the only option in 2.0 (PPMI 1.0 allowed for Beta-CIT selection).

  • SCNLOC: This variable has been removed because DaTscans will only be completed at a participant’s “home” site in 2.0.

  • VSINTRPT: This variable is no longer needed in PPMI 2.0, as the workflow in regards to confirmation of a participant’s eligibility has changed.

Future State

  • VSRPTELG: This is a derived variable, that is intended to be added in a future state of the PPMI 2.0 data dictionary, once a workflow is established on how to populate this variable from the EDC system.

  • DATSCNDT: This is a derived variable, that is intended to be added in a future state from the EDC metadata.

PREVDATDT

If a participant completed DaTscan imaging prior to their consent to PPMI 2.0, the date of their previously acquired scan will be entered in this variable. In this case, the assessment date field will be entered as the date of the visit when this CRF was completed.
