Details¶
This CRF was redesigned in PPMI 2.0 to simplify it and to take advantage of conditional logic to avoid errors.
ANYFAMPD
If the answer to this variable is No, then none of the PD questions for individual family members will be collected. This means that, unlike in 1.0, there may be null values instead of zeros in these columns.
BIOMOMPD, BIODADPD, MAGMOTHPD, MAGFATHPD, PAGMOTHPD, PAGFATHPD
These variables are represented as booleans in 2.0, but were continuous variables in 1.0. Additionally, any total number of family member question associated with these categories have been removed. The assumption is that the total number is always 1 for all these family members.
Family Member Sub-Divisions
The way in which different categories of family members are divided has changed between PPMI 1.0 and 2.0. A summary of how each category is captured is below:

Future State
For the purpose of analytic utility, most of the missing variables have been marked as DERIVED
. Though we are no longer directly capturing this information in PPMI 2.0, it can be easily derived from the data that we do have, or can be imputed with the assumption that all participants have one of each Mother, Father, and Maternal and Fraternal Grandmothers and Grandfathers.
